Topsail Stars News Board

We are very pleased again this year to recognize student achievement and talent, both here at school and in our community, through our News Board in the hallway outside our library. If your child’s sports team has just won a tournament, your child has appeared in the local newspaper for community involvement, participated in the Kiwanis music festival or another noteworthy event; we want to congratulate all accomplishments,
both big and small.
We are encouraging you to help add to our bulletin board by sending a photo and a brief description of your child’s achievement to your classroom teacher who will then forward it along to Mme. White. We will be proud to showcase it here at school, and your child will feel proud to have been recognized in our school community.

Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to learning about our Topsail Shining Stars!

The “Pause and Think Online” Song is one way that we are developing this safety skill set with our students. The song conveys many messages about online safety.

The messages it conveys include:

1. Protect private information for themselves and others.

2. Respect themselves and others in online communities.

3. Balance the time they spend using media and doing other activities.

4. Stand up to cyberbullying when they see it happening.

5. Stay safe online by listening to their gut feelings.

The “Pause and Think Online” Song has also become part of our music curriculum and the characters from the video song are appearing as posters around our building as reminders of always being internet safe.

Positive Behavior Support

Here at Topsail we have created a school wide program that outlines the behavioral expectations for our school and our community so it can be an effective learning environment for all students.
